The MapleStory team continues to investigate issues with the Familiar system and is discussing compensation for affected players. Please see the Maple Memo released on May 1, 2020 for additional details about our ongoing investigation.
The Familiar system has been temporarily disabled. Items related to Familiars have been removed from the Cash Shop and disabled in player inventories. This includes Familiar Breakthrough Cards, Booster Packs, and Familiar Slot Expansion Coupons.
Please refrain from using Familiar cards in your inventory during this time. Attempting to use a Familiar card may cause a softlock and prevent additional actions. If this occurs, log out of the game and back in to resolve.
We received additional reports that characters may still lose progress on familiars and familiar upgrades. This issue is still being investigated and we hope to have it resolved as soon as possible.
The MapleStory team is currently investigating reports that some players lost progress on the new familiar system added in the v.213 update. For affected accounts, this may have resulted in a data rollback on familiars that were registered, as well as upgrades such as potentials, levels, ranks, etc.
A fix was applied to the game on Thursday morning, April 23 (PDT) that should prevent players from losing familiar data going forward. For affected players, we are currently reviewing the situation to determine the next step. Please keep an eye on the MapleStory website for additional announcements regarding the status of lost familiar progress.
A support ticket does not need to be created if you experienced a rollback for familiars or familiar upgrades. We appreciate your continued patience.
