This error may occur if your PIC is not properly set. Try the following:
1. Go to the Official MapleStory website.
2. Log in with your ID and password in the “Login” button on the left hand side of the page.
3. Click “Info” in the login box. This will direct you to your Account Info page.
4. At your Account Info page, click on “Reset PIN or PIC.”
5. A reset email will be sent to the email account that you used to sign up for your Nexon Passport ID.
6. Open the email and click on the link provided.
7. The link will guide you back to your Account Info page and will let you know if you’ve successfully reset your PIC.
8. Log into MapleStory and create a new PIC.
